I just don't get it. How stupid can people be? Frankly, I think they should just remove themselves from the gene pool now. 

Anyone with a modicum of intelligence would know that leaving a dog, any dog, in a car in warm, hot weather is a death sentence for that animal. My heart just breaks for this poor dog who had the miserable misfortune to be with these people.

Last year around this time I saw on tv a man showing off a devise that is built into a cars back seats.  Kinda like airbag sensors - so when the weight of anything is in a car seat - if you shut the motor off it sounds an alarm.  He explained that while a very inexpensive thing for car makers to have put in their vehicles - they won't do it because if the sensor ever failed - then big lawsuit.

If someone was such an animal lover it is just common sense not to leave a dog in the car no matter what !!! I hope they get the book thrown at them.  Poor dog :(

If the description of this woman is true, then IMHO, jail time would not be the right thing.  I would think living with the torture of what your animal went through would be the punishment that would be the worst.  I just don't know how I would live with that.  How about ordering her to speak or hand out flyers or something at malls or pet stores during the summer months as a punishment?  So many hours of community service to try to prevent this from happening to any other dog (or baby)?  Just a thought.  These stories are just awful!
