Both my doodles love to eat grass. They snack on it off and on, all day, everyday, all year long. We have two types of grass, summer and winter types and they don't have a preference. Just keep chomping away.
They do not vomit hardly at all. Bella does about once every few months, but there's usually a sock, paper, plastic, poop or some other non digestible item in there, but rarely any grass. They both poop out the grass regularly without any problems. I'm wondering if it's a diet /nutrient need of some sort???
Does anyone else have doodles who just like to eat grass, totally unrelated to self inducing vomiting?

Luna may be part cow...

She LOVES to eat grass and does so every day but doesn't vomit at all.  Not only does she eat the leaves, she also rips up chunks of grass and eats the roots after shaking free the dirt (crocodile head shake).

Bailey loves to eat grass too.......along with leaves, sticks, bark, flower blossoms, and anything else in the yard.  She just loves to snack on nature.

Ha, true of Bella too. We finally stopped the rocks and wood. Grass ain't so bad then. Lol

Thank goodness Bailey has not try to eat any rocks........(yet?).

Cooper has recently gone through a phase where she will keep eating grass. To the point where i have to cut a walk short because she just wants to stand there and eat. i dont mind a nibble now and then, but if its not related to a poorly tummy then it becomes annoying

Kona and Owen are doing their best cow imitations these days. It seems like it goes in cycles but I haven't been observant enough to notice a pattern. Can you say MOOOOO.

Oh yeah, I expect to hear a MOOOO anyway now.

Winston too. I think he does it when he's thirsty for some reason.

Interesting theory. Never thought of that.
So it appears it's not just for their tummy or to make themselves vomit. Does anyone see any harm in them doings it all the time, as some of them seem to. Poops are full of natural fiber!

I make sure we avoid the yards that get treatments by lawn companies who spray with chemicals.

Good idea, and great that people put those signs up in their yard to warn you.
