How short do you keep your Doodle's fur in Summer?

Just wondering how short people like their Doodles. I need to clip mine for summer (she's way to shaggy now) and am looking for some cute pics of haircuts and length.Thanks for your help.

We for sure go shorter in the summer..it is just too hot....I like the shaggy look but to me Jack is more comfortable short so I do it for the summer.

We groom Ruby quite short. She mats very easily and it is much easier for everyone to have it short during the summer season.

They look so different with their heads, faces and ears shaved. I bet my Murphy would love this and look just as cute and neat as Ruby. I am just too chicken to do it as he hates his face and chin touched let alone shaved.

I just found this thread and since I just gave Bayley my first attempt at a haircut today, I thought I'd post our results. It's hard to get Bayley to stand still long enough to snap a photo. She'll  be 8 months old next week, and weighs 47 pounds.

It was an all day affair. I started with scissors, and realized it was going to take forever, so I got out my brand new electric trimmer with a 1 inch guard. Cutting with the lay of the hair, I was creating a hi lo shag. So back to the scissors to repair the damage. She could have turned out a lot worse. I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Very nice for a first attempt. It only gets better with practice, but it looks like you have a great technique already.

I was happy with this cut.  We went to 3/4" length.  What I like most is that his face still looks cute.   Please excuse the doodle art on the sliding glass door.  :-)
