Just wondering how short people like their Doodles. I need to clip mine for summer (she's way to shaggy now) and am looking for some cute pics of haircuts and length. Thanks for your help.

He looks great!

Thank you. He dries off from the pool so much faster too. Bella is next. It takes hours to do her since she is sooooo thick but I agree it is definitely cooler for them in the summer. 108 degrees right now and Bella is my outdoorsy girl.

thanks so much. he will be cool and comfy.

We also go short in the summer.

Yup, that's about what Murphy looks like too. So low maintenance too.

It looks great! THanks so much.

I keep Trix very short during the summer since she jogs with me and we spend a lot of time outside at the dog park.  I am not a fan of poofy heads and beards, so I ask my groomer to give her a 5F blade all over including ears and tail.  It grows out really cute and even too!

Summer cut - LOVE IT

I love this cut!!! I don't like a poofy head or mustache either. I like the ears short too.

She was groomed on June 16 and already needs to be cut down again! She was trimmed down to 1/2" - can't go much shorter than that so I guess she will be at the groomers every 3 weeks as long as this heat continues. Her beard and ears were much too full so I trimmed that down myself

She looks stunning Adrianne!

This is a really personal decision.  There are people on dk who keep their dogs really short but you do NOT want to have her so short skin shows (she can sunburn) and there are people who keep their dogs really long.  It is more of what you like as well as how difficult your dog is to groom, matting factors, and how much time you want to spend grooming.  For example Clancy sheds, rarely mats and brushes/combs out in perhaps 15 minutes, so he could be longer.  Ned mats, has poodle thick non-shedding coat and takes about 2 hours weekly to thoroughly brush/comb. My dh and I have the time and we like Ned a bit longer so we are willing to spend the time.  We recently did an experiment and had both dogs cut quite short and I hated it so we have let them grow a bit.

This is about 6 weeks post my too short groom and except for Ned's face being a bit too long, I like this as my shortest style. And the bonus is that it cuts the Ned grooming time by half.

I keep Peri at about 1 inch to 2 max during the summer.  Here's a pic of her recently - about 4 weeks post groom:
