Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We already have an existing two year old goldendoodle, Bo. We decided to get him a little brother because we felt he was lonely. So we got Tye, an eight week old goldendoodle. Yes, it's Bo Tye! Anyway, they rough play, Tye bites Bo's ears with his sharp puppy teeth, and Bo gets a little rough, but no physical damage, they just keep going at it. We're afraid at this early age that Tye might become aggressive or mean with the rough play. Has anyone else had this experience?

NORMAL HEALTHY PLAY.  It is a dog thing. We humans sometimes don't get it but it sounds to me like they are madly in love with each other.  They are in Heaven.

Let them play. It gets wild and rough and they make funny noises and bark and growl.  It is just how the kids play. ENJOY. You are lucky.

It goes on for hours and hours and hours   :)  I love to watch dogs play

Yes, only Bo is 38 pounds and little Tye is only eight weeks old. But he'll grow. Will be smaller than Bo, around 25 pounds at the most.

First of all, little Tye is so cute!  I agree with Joanne (and love her pictures too) that it is probably just fine.  That's the way my two play together also.  I just stick them outside when they are too rambunctious.  They both seem to come back for more, which tells me that they are fine with it also.  Enjoy having two doodles!  It's so fun!

Funny, TG, my two only do it outside. But they have frequent "mini" wars.

Yes!!! My Charli and Mickey (both are 3 yr old rescues) wrestle all the time. Mickey pulls her tail when they play chase so Charli has learned to run with her tail either real high or low so he can't get it. We do have all 3 wrestle at the same time and that is the only time I step in and break it up.

Their wrestling does NOT lead to aggression - it is play especially for a puppy who just left their littermates. As long as their is no real growling going on let them play but don't leave them alone.

Beautiful dogs!

Thanks for your comments. We used to have two poodle muts, they passed at ages 19 and 14. They were great companions. I agree with you, they do play rough, and poor Tye is so tiny, but he definitely stands his ground. I think they will be fine, but my husband is the one who is overly protective. I'll just give it some time and see how it goes. Yes, I think Bo loves the little guy and is happy he's here.

This is another DK member's puppy and cat.  Watch this one.  We need some help in here. Someone post their puppy and big dog together.

One of my favorite videos here on DK

Give me few more days and I will post. :-)

This is just the cutest video EVER!

Unbelievable!! That cat is such a good sport--my dogs would be bleeding!! I have never seen anything like that.

LOL here at work - stop that!
