Today Cooper and I went to a small lake with my MIL and her dog Abbey. It was Abbeys second time to a beach, and she swam for the first time. I noticed she and Cooper swim very differently, and was wondering if its a breed thing, or if it just differs dog to dog
Cooper swims with just her head out of the water
Abbey swims with her body and tail afloat
it was a fun day - the water got very deep very quickly and took Cooper by suprise when she bounced in after a stick

Daisy looks just like cooper in the water and also all my friends dogs swim that way. I actually think you MIL's dog swims differently than most dogs.
Tara is a floaty little dog!
Maybe I should cut her back on the Twinkies!
Huff swims like Cooper, but he is more violent about it. He splashes roughly and tries to eat the splashes (silly Huff). And if you are swimming with him, he gets on top of you (and tries to drown you). And in the process he scratches you up.
Teddy doesn't really swim, he stays in shallow water and kind of jumps through the water. Once he got out pretty far chasing a ball and I was worried about him! He ended up swimming with his head out of the water until he was shallow enough to jump again. He absolutely loves the water!
Both of my girls swim more like your MILs dog. They have quite a bit of their body out of the water. The hair on Soph's back doesn't usually get wet unless it is wavy.
Such different styles! Trav has only accidently gone swimming once, and his technique was just a bit of his back showing.
