Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I know this has "nothing to do" with doodles, but a missing dog is a heartbreak no matter what breed. A person in my neighborhood has
a 21 pound Lhasa Apso that has been missing since July 14th. I
actually thought it was a doodle from the picture on the poster.
I just spoke with the owner and she is truly heartsick and just hope
that she gets her "Harry" back soon. In case anyone in our area, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, knows of him, he is a "grizzle" color, tan, black and blonde. The owner's name is Glenda and I have her phone number.

It is hard to imagine having your pet missing. I am sorry to hear about it. I'm sure they are doing everything possible to get Harry back - I hope he returns quickly.
Just a reminder to everyone - make sure you put your cel phone number on the dogs tags and any health alerts.
Thank you, I totally agree with what you are saying. I never thought of putting a phone number other than that of
my vet on the dog tags, but it does make sense.
I also have "microchipped" on my dog tags - that way someone will be reminded to scan for a chip.
I'm very sorry to hear this. I can't even imagine what I would do if JD was missing even a day, let alone 2 weeks. I hope the owner has given her contact information to every animal control, shelter, and rescue group in the area, and that she is glued to the Petfinder lstings for your area. I also hope the dog is microchipped. Most of all, I hope the dog is found.
Thank you, Karen. Yes, thank goodness Harry is micro-chipped and Glenda told me she contacted all the
vets in the area, is on Facebook and Twitter with his info and obviously has placed lots of flyers in every
location she could think of. She is doing everything possible to find him. I felt terrible when I called her knowing
she was hoping I had found him and was calling with that news.
Thank you all for your positive thoughts, maybe they will somehow help.
Sally, tell her to also contact the shelters and animal controls. Private groups will vet a dog, and check for a chip, but many public shelters and animal controls will not, so only giving the info to vets doesn't always help. Dogs who are picked up by animal control can even have broken bones and they will not be seen by a vet. if you don't want to get her hopes up by calling her again, maybe you can post that info on Facebook. Everyone doesn't use FB or Twitter, she also needs to contact the police and the shelters.
I hope she finds him soon. I have had a missing pet and it is heartbreaking. She must be so worried.
:o(
I hope Harry is found and returned and if he isn't returned I hope he is with someone who loves him....though I can't imagine not trying to find an owner of an obviously loved dog.
Hoping for Harry's return. I think I have my cell and home phone on the tags, I will have to check. The dogs wear the Avid chip tag too.
Thank you all for your advice. I honestly felt that I was overstepping my bounds. I do not know this person, never met her, except for my calling to ask if Harry had been found. I truly thought ( though it really doesn't matter) that he was a
doodle that I knew from the dog park. Again, and I can't stress it too strong, any missing dog is one too many missing, and
if anyone can help, all the better.
So sorry to hear this.... I hope you find your way home Harry.. safe and sound !!!
So sorry to hear of Harry's situation. I hope is is back some with his mom soon. :(
