We start accepting photo submissions for our 2013 Doodle Calendars in September.  Although that's a month away I wanted to get everyone ready and I want you to know what to expect.  Here is where you can read about the type of photos we'll be looking for: http://www.doodlekisses.com/page/calendar-photo-requirements

(same as last year).

is there a limit to how many photos we can send you. If we use a selective color mode would that be ok , ie picking our doodles coat color and making everything else black and white.

limit yes.  As to 'artifying' the picture, I don't know if someone has done that before or if they have if it has been selected.  I don't remember a picture done that way.  I think they look very cool, but I am not a judge.

You could always send in both versions, just in case the modified one isn't acceptable (I'm not sure if it would count towards your limit though).

It does count toward the limit, and Adina does address the issue of "artifying" in the link above. She really prefers that the photos be natural and as "undoctored" as possible. Adjusting color and removing leashes are fine, but beyond that I would proceed with caution.

I don't think  too much altering or special effects will be approved but editing is OK. Still you have to meet all the pixel, size etc. requirements.

I would love to get Gavin in on the fun this year but really don't have much of an eye for these things.  Don't be suprised if I reach out to a few of you shutter bugs to help me select/tweek things ;)

BG, Just enter. You never know what Adina will pick and Gavin is a handsome Doodle. He reminds me of someone, but I can't put my finger on who it is right now :)

BG, for 3 years, I never tried submitting a photo of Jack for the calendar, because I didn't think any of my photos were good enough, and I sure don't have an eye for these things, either. (Or even a decent camera, lol)

Last year, I gave it a shot (pun intended) and JD is now on the August page and the December page of the 2012 multiple doodles calendar.

The best part of this story is that the two photos that were chosen were two old photos, and not the new ones I took so much time trying to "right" get last summer.

Moral of the story is, try. You never know.

Come on over to the photography group for some help and feedback!

Thanks for the encouragement guys - I will actively pursue this once I am back to a more internet friendly environment ;)

oooohh, I'm definitely submitting photos this year! can't wait to participate!

I am confused about how to tell about the quality of the photo; what is minimum 200 DPI?  Is there another way to tell what that minimum is?  Also, How can I tell about the size?  I have iPhoto on my computer, where all my photos are, and none of the photos look bigger than the computer screen...
