The 2009 doodle romp schedule is pending. We will be looking at having two romps at Puppy Play Ground in Indianapolis. We usually do four there, but this coming year we will need to locate other options if we want to do more than two, simply because of our size as well as the ability for the facility to be available we are being limited to days.
We are considering having at least one romp at Eagle Creek Dog Park in Indianapolis. It is a good option because we can reserve one side and devote it to the doodles. The down side is that it is outside, so all you folks that like to give your dogs a bath before coming may want to wait until after the romp. If no one shows up because of rain, then I do get stuck with out of pocket money to reserve it.
If you have other ideas that dont cost someone (me the coordinator) lots of money, please post and we will consider. IF you want to host and coordinate one too, that would be wonderful. We dont care who coordinates, we just want to have fun with the doodles.
That sounds like that might be a neat place to have a romp. We should check it out, maybe run over and take a look at it, poke around a bit and see if maybe having one there would work.
We may need to get the word out a bit more to get people to attend in the area. Im sure that there are doodle there (we have even placed a few rescues in the area) so we just need to shake some bushes a bit. :)
I'm in West Lafayette - you may want to consider Blair Animal Clinic. They have an amazing set up outside - lots of large fenced in areas and play equipment. This is where I do all my dog training. Maybe they'd open it to us for an event like this. If you want, I can do some asking. Let me know!
Mater would be sad if we had fewer romps next year - these are his favorite parties! I was just in Broad Ripple and picked up a flyer for a place called Awesome Paws Playhouse & Dog Spa. The flyers mentioned Yappy Hour and Dog Parties. Maybe we could look into having a romp there? They have a website at www.awesomepawsindy.com - I haven't checked it out, so this is a total unknown, but it sounds worth investigating!
I would be willing to contact Paul Ruster Dog Park. Since they have two separate sides we might be able to use one side for a romp. I know there are several doodle owners on the eastside. The location is German Church Rd. and Prospect.

WE have never been to one and can't wait to go! We have been to Eagle Creek it's fenced in and huge and usually not so crowded..
Pierson's Bark Park does rent out what they call their small/elderly dog area. I don't think it's big enough to hold the number of dogs we normally get, but I was told we are allowed into the rest of the park area also (where the pond is). I don't think we would have the larger area to ourselves unless it was a particularly light day. It's never overly crowded up there though and it is a 4 acre park (give or take). The fee would be $5 (per dog) for the day and to have the smaller area to ourselves we need at least 12 dogs coming. Up to date vaccinations would have to be verified by the park owners for each dog the day of the romp. There is no deposit needed. This might work o.k. if other romp spots can not be found. In case you want to check it out or ask questions: http://www.piersonbarkparks.com/index.php. We are members, so if a member has to make the reservations, let me know.
We are the proud owners of a goldendoodle puppy born on 11/16, named Izzie. Can't wait til she gets all of her vaccinations so we can play...sounds like tons of fun!!
Oh, the pond is very tempting!!! Just check out some of the pics on my page to see how much fun they have. My profile pic was taken there. They have a hose outside the fence near the parking area to rinse dogs off afterwards, but for those with heavy coats, a bath might be in order. :)
