A quick internet warning

I know we are all excited about vacations, trips, etc.

 

Many people post on this forum and on other social media sites about being away from their homes for an extended time period.  There are people that look for these postings and try to use any and all information for their benefit.

 

My point is that you are identifying your home as vacant to a potential thief.

 

(I am posting this having just read about someone going on a 2 week vacation and being able to easily identify where they live).

 

So please post about your vacations when you return, we all love to see pictures.

Yep - I never post about being away on Facebook until I return.. and I didn't post anything about getting married in Hawaii until I came back ;)

An additional reminder - Even if you don't post your address, since you have posted something on the internet, people have ways of figuring out where you live.  Most of the time people couldn't care less about where you live... but if they are one of those people looking around the internet for people on vacation, then they may be looking for posts about vacations and then tracing them.
