I can't say that our doodles have nicknames that have nothing to do with their names. Lacey is Lacey Macy Moo or Lacey May May. Harlow is usually Harlow Jeanie Doo. But our wonderful cat, Moonshine, (who recently passed at 18) nicknames were Schmoo (probably a variation on Moo) and Rodchester. The later because he was a black cat and had a very raspy meow that reminded us of actor Eddie Anderson's voice.
Biscuity Boo-Boo
Schnoodle Doo
Zipperty-Doo-Dah
Mon Cher BisCUIT or Mon Petit BisCUIT (said with French accent)
Hound Dog
Poodley-oodley-ooo
I'd better stop here... could be at it all night. :)
Bailey is Bailey Bug, Bug, Doodle Bug, Puppers, Baby Girl
Darwin's nicknames get really bizzare. Currently, Bongy, Bong, Senor Fwong, Fwong-type, Bongwise Gamgee, and Dar Dar.
I don't know how it happens but we develop the strangest nicknames for him.
Oh Camilla, you gave away your inner Tolkien with Bongwise Gamgee. Love it!
LOL, I am a huge fan of course. :-)
Sedona can be:
Seblona (because my elderly mother couldn't remember and misspoke)
Seblova (an offshoot of Seblona)
Sedona Merona (which my almost two-year-old granddaughter thinks is hilarious)
Toots (I have no idea why)
Fuzzy Butt (for obvious reasons)
Cubbie -- pickles, peanut, Bob Barker (when he won't stop barking), and Snarls Barkley (when he gets all cranky during grooming)
Ollie -- Big head, Oaffie, Oaf, Squash (he always steps in and squashes poop)
Tara's nicknames are constantly evolving so ask again in a month and they will be totally different!
Currently:
Peeps
Peepers
Chickapee
Pooh
Little Bug
Peanut
And I'll stop there!! :)
Why do you think we do this???
We call Mojo (five months old) Gator because he is always opening his jaws wide looking to chew something. When he is in a calm lovey mood I call him my Love Doodle.
