Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
A "Heartdog" is that one dog that lives in your heart forever. It can be any breed, any time in your life, but everyone knows who that dog is. I know who many "heartdogs" are for many of my friends and acquaintances, but if you have had (or currently have) a "heartdog" you know it! So, my question is: Is your "heartdog" a doodle? They are definitely special dogs and my first doodle was my heartdog. No other dog will live up to him, even though they may try. He was something special to be sure. Here is a photo of Hondo tide pooling at Carmel Beach. He died on 09-18-10.

I just love Charlie's eyes. He looks so soulful.
Thanks for the compliment Candice.
Charlie Brown, you are a delight to your mom and the rest of us!
I've only had 2 dogs in my life. The first was a black lab my family owned when I was 8-14. Although I loved her, I was much more removed from her than I am from Darwin. She was a pet, Darwin is a friend, he is family.
Maybe it's because he's the first dog I've owned on my own, Maybe it's because he has been like our first child. But I just feel that he is the dog that will leave his mark on us. I'm sure we will love every dog we have, but he was the first, and he just... fits so well with us. His personality is so strong and clear to me, as much as any of my friends or family. You know when you just get someone, and you know what they are thinking without them saying it? I feel that way with Darwin. Of course I can never check to see if I'm right seeing as he can't talk... LOL. Look at this cutie though. How could we not love him?
You have shared Darwin with us to the point that we all want to know him better. He is such a dear! I love this photo!
I love Darwin, too! He really is almost perfect!
Impossible not to love Darwin and of course he talks. Just not English---yet.
You are right F, I think he is probably fluent in English... just in comprehension not speaking it. :o)
Darwin, Darwin, Darwin! With those eyes, you don't need to say a word :))
Camilla ~ I look forward to your beautiful photos of Darwin. Oh, what a sweet, sweet face!
Love this photo! He just looks so concerned. Must have been hard for all of you.
