My friends.............I need some help with finding some toys for my Bear. He destroys every toy within a matter of hours, so I really do not like to spend a lot of money on toys. I have 2 toys that are guaranteed to be indestructible.......and when he does destroy it, I am able to take it back to the store and they will give me a new one in place of the other..........I do have to bring what is left of the toy. I think this is great.
Bear LOVES his lamb's wool like toys, but like I said before.........within hours or (if we are lucky) in a couple of days it will be gone. Does anyone have any ideas of toys which would be hard to destroy for Bear? Thanks!!
I love all the Fluff toys but with my two it seems they like to pull the fluff out of them with in minutes. the only thing that last at our house is tennis balls and hard rubber toys.
ours love the Cuz toys. Kirby is a power chewer so we buy the large ones and he can't make a dent in them. We also have lots of nylabones and kongs (also the red kong balls) and basically nothing else as toys :)
Samantha has destroyed Kongs, Tuff Toys, Cuz and most everything else. What I found very interesting is that I found an "unstuffed" stuffed animal - we call her Moo - at Target. It is plush, the 4 hooves have a squeaker and the head is stuffed and alos has a squeaker. She carries it around like it is her puppy. We have had Moo now for over 4 months!!! She just this past weekend made a hole in back of Moo's head so I took it away from her. I am going to have it sewn closed professionally. The company is called Sherpa Pet Products, Barnyard Collection. You can get them from this website.
Halas has had a couple of these. He still likes to pull the fluff off of the outside, so they still usually end up destroyed. But I guess they've lasted a little longer than some of the stuffed ones.
Connor is a toy chewing fanatic. Good thing I work in a dog bakery/boutique! Toys he and my collie love that last - Planet Dog mint embedded toys especially soccer ball and planets. Their toys are 100% guaranteed by manufacturer and rated for toughness on a scale of 1-5 chompers with 5 being the toughest. TUFFIES are rated on a scale to 10 for toughness. Even with multiple layers of canvas, 4 layers of stitching and safety enclosed squeakers, if you buy a toy rated 5-7 for an aggressive chewer, they will go through it. Try the 8-10s and you will have much better luck. WEST PAW's Zogoflex toys are great! My guys love their TUX toy -- it's shaped like 3 balls, has a place to stuff medium bones and a crazy bounce. With or without food, TUX is fun to throw and chew and sturdy like you can't believe. Also guaranteed. Merrick's G.I Bones are shin bones with a bbq baste and "marrrow" inside. I give these to my boys for about 15-20 minutes at a time. We recently got a "soft" toy in that is rated for super chewers, but I haven't brought one home yet and we haven't put it in the big toy box at work that all the dogs who work there play with. When I check it out at home, if it works, I'll let everybody know. I hope this helps. :-)
I posted earlier about zogoflex toys 0- still my first choice. Other choices the UNstuffed ducks available at Orvis.com and sometimes petsmart. For some reason both my chewers like these but don't chew them to pieces. Also thrift stores are excellent sources of very cheap tennis balls (for throwing, not chewing) and stuffed animals. I can usually find suitable stuffed animals without sharp parts for 50cents. i buy a few dollars worth and throw them in the washing machine and dole them out on special ocasions when I need a little break.
