Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We started planning in July of 2011 and the Doodle Cruise was but a dream. All the days of planning and waiting and finally it was here. The chance to meet in person some of my DK IDOLS! From the 1st moment it was truely like we were all old friends - because we really were old friends. This past week was one I will never forget. There were tons of laughs, some tears, dancing, way too much eating and drinking. Doodle talk of course!!! I am way to tired (and want to spend time with Rooney, Stuart and DH) to go into details - those will all come as people get home but I'll share a few photos with you all. Oh and of course WE CAN'T TELL EVERYTHING - some things will have to stay on the ship.
Here is Dori and I at Sail Away - the weather is Miami was getting cloudy - great time to leave.

Jane, you are so good to be doing all of this. You can't please everyone all the time, but you are putting out options for us. Thank you.
If we could only bring our doodles with us then I'd sign up for the next cruise in a NY minute! Now THAT would be an absolute GREAT cruise to take! I don't know about anyone else but I hate having to leave my "Irish" behind when I go - she makes me so homesick - does anyone else out there agree w/me? Next March we have rented a home on Marco Island - for the entire month - my requirement was that the place had to be dog friendly! And it is!!! Yey!!!1
We all missed our puppies BAD but there was so much doodle talk and the chance to meet each other was too good to pass up. The doods were all over our doors, shirts, etc so it really wasn't bad and I think that the doods have no sense of time so they were happy to see me but couldn't know if I was gone for a day or a week.
I have a friend that lives in Marco Island. Small world. I have a very hard time leaving my dogs. I worry so much it is almost not worth it to go. Luckily, I have a wonderful dog sitter and my DD is home, too. I can honestly say I had so much fun this cruise, I really did not think about it as much as I usually do. I was glad to see them when I got home and vice versa.
Totally off topic Marilyn but my only daughter got engaged over Labor Day to a very nice man - a Mr. Matthew Nordberg - are we about to be related? LOL Oh darn - you are Norberg and he is Nordberg - well I tried.
LOL, I think there might be some problems with going potty when the ship is at sea.
Actually the Queen Mary takes dogs but they only take about 12. The have some sod they put near the dog kennels for potty purposes. The dogs are kenneled a lot of the time so it doesn't sound so wonderful for them : ( Here I found a blurb:

Here's something I only recently learned; Carnival owns the Cunard lines!
That was the first thing I thought of when people starting asking about doodles on the ship: WHERE would they go potty? Sounds like a bit of a nightmare to have a romp on a ship. Dogs would have to be leashed the entire time or risk all sorts of liability issues too and even then....
