Adding a 2nd Doodle - UPDATE

The stars must have aligned just right the past few days, because we went from not being 100% certain on what breeder we'd be going with, to finding the exact match (breeder and puppy) within hours. Turns out Lucy's breeder brought to my attention that she had a small male, as small as the smaller females, in her current litter of multi-gen standard labradoodles. She thought this guy would mature to around 40 lbs, which isn't far off from our previous preferred weight limit. So, after visiting the little guy, who's just over 4 weeks old, we put our deposit down on him. Introducing, Oscar, who will be coming home on Lucy's 3rd birthday, Nov. 6th.

Thanks everyone. Yes, we are anxious to be bringing Oscar home. I can't imagine how difficult the wait would be had I had to wait for the gestation and all... oh wait, yes I can... I went through it with waiting for Lucy. It drove me bonkers!

Ann, the little boy in the picture is the breeder's youngest son (she has 5). He was quite the gregarious little fellow. He wanted so much to be a part of our experience. I love how the picture turned out with him hamming it up for the camera.

Hey Ginny, I'm going to be busy? I thought Lucy was supposed to do all the work...lol! That's what I keep hearing, anyway. Hopefully Lucy will help with the potty training and setting down some of the ground rules. At least he can take some cues from her. I really think Lucy is going to see Oscar as her new toy, and it won't necessarily bring out her maternal side. Lucy is all about play, making everything a game. It will be fascinating to watch how their relationship develops, and if she shifts from play mode to mother mode.
