Confession: I have NO plans for the 10,000 Member Party...HELP!

Everyone is expecting something big or that we have something exciting up our sleeves for when we reach 10,000 members, but we...um...have nothing.  Clark and I have talked about all kinds of things but they all seemed kind of lame.  What should we do?

We could do a giant Yappy Hour Party with "party games"...like...

1) Scramble - Pick 5 - 10 words from your site or your business and scramble them up before the party. Let everyone know that the words are coming from your site or your business whichever you choose.

2) Trivia - Pick 5-10 questions about your site. Let everyone know that the answers can be found on your site. The first person to get the correct answer gets a point at the end of the game the person with the most points gets the prize you have picked out.

Prizes could be something like "your Doodle featured in the slideshow for two days"....or a free Doodle Calendar or T-shirt.

 

We could also have a Page Decorating contest....the page that best summarizes the 10,000 Doodle Celebration.

 

How about a "blog writing" contest.....we write a blog about what DK has meant to us...could be funny or serious.

I'm not sure how popular the T-shirts were(are), but what about a commemorative T-Shirt!  It could have the logo with an added (10,000 members strong) on the front.  And then on the back maybe something about the rescues, responsible breeding, and spay/neuter!  Like our members support Doodle rescue, responsible breeding and spaying and neuter!  Or something.

I love the mascot idea from Sandy, the trivia idea from Jane with a commemorative T shirt for the winner/winners. As for some other ideas, not all of us have party hats, and decorating our pages and writing great blogs really limit those of us who have NO talent in those areas.

I remember so vividly beautiful fireworks when I opened up DK one morning.  2,000 or 3,000 members?   It was simple and nice  :)

I liked the fireworks also, Joanne. It was unexpected and fun.  If it isn't a ton of trouble perhaps the home page could be color changed or a party hat added to the doodle for a week or so and fireworks also.

I liked them too, but it kind of threw people for a loop and made them think they suddenly got a weird virus or their computer was about to explode...haha.  I'm not sure I want to scare people again :-O
