Okay, East Coasters.... when you can please check in with us. I'm up in the middle of the night on the west coast, watching the news and wondering how all of you are doing!

Thank Goodness. I was holding my breath for a few minutes there.
No this storm was for real. It is heartbreaking to see what this storm has done.
If you don't usually post on DK but read it, please let us know how you faired this devastating storm. We care about all of the members!
Doris, I was up in the night for two hours just watching the devastation. I only personally know one family in NYC. It is all my DK friends that I was fretting over. So glad to hear that some are well and hoping all will keep us posted. xo
Good to see check-ins from so many and to know that most are fine! Hopefully the worst is over and things can get back to normal soon!
I am fine but when the power will come on is anyone's guess. NJ is just devastated though in many areas, and so is lower Manhattan.Thank you all for your concern. I hope everyone else is OK
Hey F, it's really, really good to see you. :>)
All is well here--we were in the Storm "shadow"--the wind and rain were to the east of us and south of us and the mountains in between blocked the wind and rain--so we sat here watching it all unfold elsewhere--since we are usually in the thick of local weather disasters like blizzards, ice storms and floods, this was a new experience.
But my heart goes out to those in NJ who are stranded, some on rooftops waiting for rescue, and the ones whose houses burned to the ground in Queens. So much disaster over such a wide area. It will be weeks before things are repaired.
My 92 year old dad is so clueless that he actually drove to a diner last night for dinner on Long Island with the wind blowing all around him. I told him not to go anywhere, but he does not listen. I guess he was hungry and didn't feel like opening a can of soup.....his neighbors are all helping him get his generator going today--I can not get there (he is 3 hours from me) because the bridges between him and I are all closed. Thank goodness for good neighbors.
No power/ no internet - checking in from dunkin donuts. Everybody is fine - dogs a little on edge.
It will probably be 4 or 5 days before we get power again.
So glad you are safe!!! Sharon, are they letting dogs in at Dunkin or are they at home?
