Brenna is 19 months old and has slept with me since the first day I got her. First in her crate and then graduated to the bed.

She is a very good girl, will switch places sometimes, but quiet until it gets light. When she wants out, she gets off the bed and will bark, never during the night.

The past 4 nights she has wanted to sleep in the living room on the dog bed. She comes in the bedroom about 7-7:30 and barks to go out.

If I stay in bed, she will then hop up and take a snooze.

Can't figure it out, any ideas?

Our Vern moves all over the place at night. Maybe she is cooler in the living room, but as long as she is not doing anything else or getting into any trouble at night, I wouldn't worry about it. She sounds like a great dog. I bet as it gets colder, you might see her back up on your bed.

I need to put up a newer picture, she is so funny. I live in Florida, so it is colder than summer. Just got colder the last few days. Maybe she likes the cold.

My two dogs prefer to sleep on the cold, hard floor and will pick a weird spot behind a sofa in our foyer before going to the comfort of any of their numerous dog beds. We sleep with two fans on at night to accommodate our spoiled dogs, even in the dead of winter :)

Our Murphy just started sleeping on the tile floor in the master bath these past few weeks too. He's 4 and has slept with us since he was 8 weeks old. He hops up and down during the night, but before he would get on the bed, and hardly move till morning. I think he's just been getting hotter too. We just started opening our windows at night and although I expect it to be cool in the bedroom, it's probably not as cool as I keep it with the a/c on.
I expect she and he will both come back to being on the bed. Who knows tho, crazy doodles.

Could it be the full moon? Harvest moon?

Wonder what she will do tonight?

My Murphy did this for about a week 6 months ago. My feelings were so hurt! He hasn't done it since and the only thing I can think of is he was just starting some medication. I think sometimes they just need some space....like a teenager,LOL.

Our dog comes up on the bed when we go to bed, and when the lights go off he jumps down. Sometimes he will come back up in the early morning. We think he gets hot... hard to say. I wouldn't worry.

Trav usually sleeps on the bed, and I always wonder why if he goes off to sleep on the floor or in the living room.  He's always on the bed when I wake up in the morning, though.  Maybe Brenna will just shift her sleep place around occasionally, like Trav does.

Kona definitley prefers to sleep with us in the bed when it is cooler.  In the hot summer months she will sleep on the floor and join me in the early morning when her daddy leaves for work.  In the fall and winter she is a rock, sleeping almost on top of me.  If I move to hit snooze or shift, she falls into my spot and I have to fight to get it back :)

Luna has decided that one of our spare bedrooms is "her" room and she sleeps in there instead of with us until a few hours before we wake up.  I think we make too much noise when we're trying to sleep tossing around and chatting and she wants to get a head start on her sleeping.

She doesn't sleep with us in the bed even if she's in the same room (she has a doggie bed), so maybe she's decided that the futon in the spare room is just more comfortable. :)
