I just don't understand people!  How can you take a loved member of the family and just abandon her??? What's worse is, they actually listed her for sale! It's that same tired story about having children and not having time to take care of her. Even though the add says she is "extremely low maintenance". I feel so bad for her! If I had the money, I would go and get her myself! She looks absolutely adorable. It just makes me so sad! It's like giving up one of your children!

I just had a baby, work full time, have baby in daycare, a senior chihuahua with health needs and a wired mini doodle.  I can SWING it.  Sure it's hard, but I can swing it.  Same old same old.

May God bless you and your beautiful family! (including ALL family members, human and non)

It honestly would not surprise me to find out they got her for Free off craigslist and are now making up a story and reselling her!

I only pray that she is spayed.

"The children don't help take care of her." That's why children can't own a dog and why nobody should be getting a dog "for the kids". If you don't want to take care of a dog yourself, don't get one. Period.

We all know they aren't "extremely low-maintenance", and if they were, the whole story would make even less sense than it already does. I'm giving up this gorgeous doodle that I've lived with for three years because my kids won't help take care of her, even though she really doesn't need any care. Right.

My guess is that maybe these people can't really afford to keep her, and are too proud to say so. But I'm probably giving them too much credit. And at "$1500 firm", I doubt they would be interested in going the rescue route.

Great lesson for those four kids, though. "I told you if you didn;t help take care of the dog, I would get rid of her! See what happens when you don't do as you're told?"

Poor dog, maybe she will get lucky and someone wonderful will buy her.

Would some j****** really pay them $1500. I suppose so, sadly.

Agreed, agreed, and agreed. Nobody should get a dog an expect that their children will raise him/her. Do we expect children to raise other children? No. Of course they can/should share in the responsibility, but using this as an excuse is just sad :(.

Poor girl.  What a shame.  I hope she ends up with wonderful owners.  As sad as it is that this dog is losing its home, I really do hope that in the long run the dog is better off with owners who appreciate and love her as she deserves.  It really is horrible that they want $1,500 for her...

On the other hand, a steep rehome fee is going to save her from being "adopted" by people who are going to use her as a bait dog to train pitbulls for fighting, or Class B animal dealers who are going to sell her to testing labs.

That's what happens to "free to good home" dogs.

I just hope she doesn't end up as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. I wish they'd mentioned that she's spayed, they did mention UTD on shots. :-(

Those pictures just break my heart. I wish there was a way to make sure she goes to a wonderful home. If I had the money I'd be there in a heartbeat and give her to the DRC.

Sarcasm alert - it sounds like she needs to keep the doodle and get rid of the kids who are not helping!

I thought the same thing Deanna!

Maybe she isn't really selling but just giving the kids a scare for not helping with the dog--not very nice thing to do, but could be that she p
