My question seems a little silly becuase there are so many threads going on that seem

so much more important than this but anyways ...

I am wondering how I can meet people on this site. Do I just read posts and comment and hospfully a friendship starts? I am in the market for some positive pet owner friends :)

Well Heather, you are witness to a DK first, and it's a BIG one. Laurie said I was RIGHT ! It is an amazing moment on DK ! By the way, Laurie is our resident weekly blogger. She is quite funny, and you don't want to miss any of her stories,

Hi Heather and welcome to DK. I haven't read this whole thread but one thing you can do is invite people to be your friend. Go to a person's page and click on Add as Friend. Then you can type in a personal message. I just asked to add you as my friend. I hope that helps. You can make comments on other owner's pages also.

Welcome Heather ... Your Daisy is adorable! Just looked at your pictures.  There are so many great things to do here and the people are wonderful.  Be sure to check out all the wonderful groups.  There is a group for just about everything.  You can also do a search under the Members tab to see if there are any members right in your area.  Also, there is a Friday night "Yappy Hour"!  Sometimes it is Yappier than others, but normally in the 7-8 EST time frame somewhere.  That would be a great place to get to know some of the more regular members.

I did the Yappy Hour once and it was a blast-but I keep forgetting lately.  It's fast and furious and I am usually slow and dull by that time on a Friday!  But I am going to set my iPhone reminder for this Friday.  

Anyway, Heather, you came to the right spot for dog loving people.  I have only been on for a few months and actually won THE SHIRT (you'll see it at some point) on the last round from Sheila and Finnegan so it is easy to get involved.

Welcome to DK! I used to live in London (ON), but not anymore. We visit a couple of times a year, though.

Daisy is so cute! It made me smile to see Daisy literally "on" her humans. Our Willow is snuggly on her own - always have to have some part of her body (often paws) on us when she's playing or asleep. Your profile picture reminded me of this one of Willow, from a friend's boat in Lake Ontario.
