I am so happy for you! Rigby is adorable. I am still waiting but it is nice to see that the wait is over for you and you are enjoying your new addition. Post lots of pics.
Aww, Congrats! I am so jealous of you right now :) I am waiting, and get to go up and choose my guy next weekend but don't get him till middle of May :( I guess all of us who are waiting can just live vicariously through you now!
LOL!!! I did that with this whole site for the last few months!!! :) I hope he meets my expectations. He has been so good, I just hope while he's home with the men they keep track of him like I do!! I know when he has to go out etc. the first night I got up with him and then put him back in the crate and let him cry himself to sleep. Last night my hubby got up with him and let him stay out and play! I think he was worried about him crying too much! Such a push over! I know he was trying to be helpful and let me sleep because I have to work, but he also has to be tough and not let Rigby rule the roost! No Rigby is sleeping and my hubby is tired and probably watching him sleep! LOL
Congrats Stephanie, Rigby is adorable! Do you work from home or outside of the home? And how is that going? I work from home and an a little nervous how I am going to juggle that and a new puppy.
Thanks Sara. I am a teacher at a local school. I am lucky because my hubby is at home all the time. His first day which was yesterday went pretty well, but I didn't get much done. I let him play with the family while I made meals. When I did outside chores I ended up going when he was sleeping and put him in his crate. He does sleep a lot right now, but I don't think that will last long! He's doing great on potty training as long as everyone is vigilant and watches the signs of wanting to go out. He seems to go to the door and look at it for now. I want to buy bells so that he learns to ring them to go out. I think he'll learn quickly. So at first after the newness wears off you can probably get some work done during the naps. I would probably find it hard because I would want to play with him all the time and get distracted. I guess I would say puppy proof one area that you will be able to keep an eye on him and then give him lots of toys and chews. Then just try to keep a schedule on when to take him out, play time, etc. I have a feeling he will be at your feet a lot! mine seems to love to be where we are at all times. Follows us everywhere. They are people oriented. :) Good luck!! You might find a group on here about people that work from home or start one! :)
Thanks Stephanie. I actually asked for that first week off of work after she arrives, so I can just focus on her for a bit. I am planning on crate training her, so I am hoping that she will take good naps for me in there during the day and then I can work. My job is super flexible. I just have a 24-hour TAT that I have to get my files typed up and returned, so I should be able to take breaks and give her some attention.. I hope. That is my plan at least. My children will be getting out of school soon after that too, and I am hoping they will be a big help. Thanks for the tips. I am excited to learn from you and Rigby. Keep us posted!!
