We have to go out of town to a wedding, its going to be to long to leave the doodle here by himself. Have people that can let him out, but afraid of what we would come home to with all his alone time. Feel bad boarding him, it will be for 24 hours. Please tell me this is ok :/

I have boarded my two for up to two weeks when I've been on vacation and they have been fine. If you trust where you are sending him go and have fun. I send my two to someone's home and they get let out in the yard etc. Still I am sure they may spend more time crated than here but it's OK in the end.

He is going to a vet clinic so he will be crated the whole time except for walking twice a day. Thank goodness its only for 24 hours. Thanks for your feedback

Not bad for 24 hours but for longer stays you might want to find something with some more freedom. And twice a day isn't a lot : (

Okay, one last suggestion. I did a search using the words, ' Doggie Day Care, Norfolk Nebraska'

I found a lot

I think there is a lot more in your area that you may want to look into.

Check out the swimming pool in this place!

Woah! I wanna go there!!

I'm coming to Nebraska.  I think we found your day care   :)

Oh crap.. this is in Virginia. Norfolk VA  :(   I was so excited.

LOL I was going to say i had NO idea we had something like this available! Haha

Well, here is what I did when I had no choice-- I had to go out of town for work, Charlie was barely 4 months old, and my three willing pet sitters were all unavailable- perfect storm!

I got him the biggest run available at the vet, the only one who would take a puppy so young. I paid for two playtimes in addition to the three walks they did per day, and insisted on speaking to the kennel manager and staff before leaving. He was to be the first one out in the morning, and the last one out before they left in the evening. It wasn't ideal, but it was the best I could do with limited time to make arrangements. Charlie did just fine, he doesn't appear to be scarred from the experience :)

If it ever comes to boarding again, his daycare does boarding, and has an overnight human, and dogs have a variety of sleeping arrangements to choose from (human bedroom, group sleeping, or in a kennel). Plus I totally trust them.

Great tips...what about finding a pet sitter that comes/stays at your Hse.? Also a lot dog groomer do pet sitting in their homes

We don't need a sitter very often. I am going to check around and see about finding someone willing to stay here in the future. Dont like this idea of boarding at all. My doodle is very spoiled :) I trust the place he is going and I know a lot of people use them for boarding and Ive never heard anything bad. So we'll hope for the best. Found out they have dog runs at least and he wont be stuck in a little crate. Thanks for your imput :)
