Hi yall.. I need to invest in a shaver and scissors for fonzi our 8 month old mixed coat. His coat is  pretty managable except for his extra curly areas. I have no idea what I need.. So far he has really matted hair on his ears and that's about it. I have been scouring the other forms but am only more confused.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again

I'm surprised others haven't chimed in with their suggestions. I don't do my own grooming on my 2, but I do a lot of detail face work between grooms. I use two different 'Supreme Series Master Grooming Tools' shears, 1 straight and 1 curved. They've worked well over the years and I have had to have them sharpened once (probably should have had it done more often). They work well on both a woolly coat and a fleecy coat. I don't use a regular electric clipper, but I hear the Andis 2-Speed is a really good one. I do have an Andis trimmer though for the bottoms of paw pads which works well.

Thanks Deb

I use the Andis 2 speed clipper on Buddy. Buddy has some curly areas and lots of wavy. I got the metal combs made by Wahl to go with the clipper. It seemed more people preferred the metal combs over the plastic that Andis has. The metal combs work great, but I do have to brush out his curls for them to go through easily. As for shears, I use generic ones and really can't recommend them.

Thanks for your help
