Mini F1B Goldendoodle coming home end of August!

Hi everyone!

I've been a lurker here for a while, but I feel it's finally time for me to join DK now that I've officially reserved my doodle to come home at the end of August!  He's a mini F1B Goldendoodle and his name is going to be Indy (short for Indiana).  He's six weeks old now but the breeder is going to give him a month of training before he comes to live with me to make everyone's lives a bit easier. Pictures from the breeder are below.

This is such a wonderful, warm community and I am thrilled to be a part of it!  Now I'm off to continue my list of puppy necessities--recommendations of must-haves are welcome (I've read many of the other discussions, but you never know if someone's forgotten to mention some toy or tool they absolutely love).

Your little boy is SO cute! OMD!  The first thing that came to mind was grooming tools but I see Donna has already mentioned them.  Collar/ID tag?

Definitely!  I can't wait to make an ID with his name--that'll make it feel all the more real!

What a cutie!  Very similar to the colouring Luna had when she came home (minus the curls!)

Luna is a stunning dog!  I would be thrilled if Indy darkened to a similar color, although of course I'd love him if he was lime green :)

 Indy is adorable and Welcome to Doodle Kisses.  I found the most important items to have, in addition to a few toys, are a crate and a first aid kit.

Thanks!  Is there a particular first aid kit you recommend (one for dogs)?  I hadn't thought about that!

Welcome to DK!  I am in Indiana, so I'm curious as to why you chose his name.  Are you from Indiana or is that where the breeder is?  He is adorable! 

Make time to look on DK recommended food list to select a good food for him.  Also - Have a crate ready (that divides so it is small enough for him to just turn around in at first for potty training purposes).  I also loved the snuggle puppy for the crate. 

Finally, I loved and still use poochie bells.  Both my doodles ring them when they want to go out.  I also had a baggie of Cheerios next to the back door to treat Bexter when I was potty training him and that worked well.

Thanks Traci!  I'm very happy to be here.  Poochie bells look great.  I've seen pictures of the snuggle puppy and they look adorable.

I chose Indiana for the Indiana Jones movies.  Silly but true!  I've always liked to name pets after movies/books/musicals I like and Harrison Ford's character had a dog named Indiana (Indy) growing up.  Looking at this little puppy's face, it just seemed to fit!
