Thanks Lynda! This was from a picture I took when I first moved to the Central Coast and I thought it would be a good picture to paint someday. I love painting rocks and getting creative with the colors!

So, it is a photo that was painted with Corel?  Love it.  Central Coast?  Are you on the central coast of California?  So am I.

It's a watercolor, painted with real paints and paper. I don't know how to use Corel! I use my own photos as references for my paintings, except the cowgirl was done with a photo taken by her mother.

Congratulations Dee on your Double Win for your beautiful art work at the fair!!!!  It was good to meet you but wish we could of visited longer, but it was kind of crazy there.  You do Beautiful Work!!!!

Cindy, Thanks for your kind words. Yes, it was nice meeting you last night. You are right, it was sort of crazy in there and crowded! I had just walked in and someone came up and told me about winning a 1st and a 3rd and took me to show me where my work was and then I ran into you!  When things quieted down and I had a chance to look at all the art work, I saw what I thought was  a watercolor by Jennifer and it was yours. Your work is very similar to hers and she is the best artist in our class in my opinion! I was in such awe of her when I first started and sat next to her to "absorb" and learn. I guess it worked! We  will keep in touch at least through DK and Art Cafe. Thanks again for all the encouragement.

Thanks so much. I am now working on another one of Chloe to get more practice and then I will try another dog... I can't wait to see the pictures from the romp. Hi Dee, I have heard about Jennifer's work, and it is true that when you admire someone's style you can indeed learn from them, I do like your style of work and the pencil drawing of your baby was just beautiful as was your watercolor of your granddaughter...that will be a treasure for her to have all her life, what a precious gift.  I am going to private message you my email address so we can communicate by that.  Have a Blessed Day Dee!!!
