HOW LONG SO I HAVE TO WAIT

HEY EVERYBODY, AS YOU ALL KNOW I DID GET KASH HAIR CUT DOWN FOR THE SUMMER, NOW I'M SO MISSING HIS LONG BLACK HAIR, WILL IT EVER GROW BACK ? IT SEEM TO BE TAKING FOREVER AND NOW ITS CHANGING COLORS TOO. DID YOU ALL HAVETO WAIT LONG AND WHATS UP WITH THE COLOR CHANGE?????    IS THIS WHAT THEY MEAN WHEN THEY SAY COMING INTO ADULT COAT??

My Shelby gets shaved about 4-5 times during the hot season here in TX - which starts in March and runs through October.  Shelby loves the water, doesn't shed and hates being brushed which equals matted doodle!   The first time I had her shaved I was shocked and thought oh my.... but the fur does grow back really quickly.  I am amazed!   The change in color could be the transition to the adult coat - I didn't look to see how old your Kash is, but my Shelby was red as a puppy and now she is much more of an Apricot!

Hi Christine kash is 7momths he was jet black as a puppy. I was thinking he would stay that at an adult, but since becoming a member here I found out about the coat change I quess I will have to wait and see.

I figured Trav's coat grew about 1/2 inch per month--if that helps!

Almost all doodles change color.  The apricots and reds fade to cream and apricot.  The dark doodles change the most to all kinds of shades from a reddish chocolate with blond highlights to milky chocolate, to lilac or......? Cutting them isn't what causes the change, it just shows what was happening underneath the fluffiness.

I'm now in the same boat as you. Goldie just got her first shave down today. I actually love the velvet teddy bear short hair but I miss her full doodle face. I think next time I will stick with the face being left much longer. I'm just hoping that somehow the face hair grows back much faster than the rest of her body!

You pup looks like my Violet !! She got a bad haircut last week end they cut all the face and 1/2 of the tail !!!!! The worst part ? The groomer nicked her tender belly about 4 times !! I called the owner in tears !! I am still upset ....

omg! they cut the tail,i think the tail is there signature look. I know what you mean I wasn't happy with his cut either next time I might try petsmart...if there be a next time. don't cry maybe it will grow really fast. what did the groomer say when you call back?

I was in tesrs not for her cut but the groomer literally cut and nicked about 4 spots on her tender belly they were slightly bleeding ! she is ok now jut one on her knee if you will ...

it takes about 2 months for my babes t ogrow ..
