Unlike Meg, Penny is not the stellar hunter.  Last night, she was barking wildly at the back door.  Intruder Alert!!!  I looked out and there at the back of our yard sat two doodles enjoying the evening breeze.  I told her that they were her brothers but she didn't believe me.  I let her outside and she just stood on the porch barking.  Finally, I called the other dogs in and she warily watched them approach. When she finally figured it out, it was one of the "oh, never mind" moments.

Do you think she has particularly poor eyesight for a doodle?

awwwww! I dont know about her eyesight but I bet she was so proud of herself being on duty all by herself!  I wonder what her brothers said to her when they came back LOL

Her brothers probably told her some crazy story about what was going on out there, you know how boys are.  At least she thought she was doing her job.

LOL! I can just see the boys rolling their eyes and muttering "Girls!" to one another.

Being a doodle is hard work, isn't it, Penny?

She is a funny little dog.  Sometimes in the late afternoon she gets it in her head to bark.  We don't know what she is barking at but she seems very intent.  Of course, she is also a troublemaker so this could just be an extension of that.  Some day, we'll be happy that she's on top of things around here.

Awww, I think she was a little jealous they were out there and trying to do her best to get them in and it worked:)

Hmmm... maybe.  There is a bit of jealousy between the doodles.  But generally, she doesn't like to stay outside if I'm not with her.  She my baby. :)

Penny was all alone on guard duty while those pesky brothers were just playing.  Sheeeesh!  Good job, Penny!
