First night out of the crate

So, last night was Salvador's first night out of the crate... totally unplanned!  We had a big thunderstorm and the power went out.  I don't have air conditioning and his crate is a hard sided plastic crate.  At night I'll put a large-ish box fan right in front of his crate so it blows on him all night. 

When the power went out last night, I was laying in my bed sweating so bad, that I could only imagine that poor Salvador had to be extremely uncomfortable too!  His crate is in the living room.  I thought about bringing him up to my bedroom, but it's on the second floor (which means its hotter) and he doesn't spend a whole lot of time in my bedroom (I don't spend a whole lot of time in my bedroom either).  During the day, he gets gated into the kitchen, and so I decided since he's used to that area, that I'd put him there for the evening.  He did great!  I was concerned all night long, however! I kept waking up and listening to see if I could hear him rummaging around, seeing if he may have knocked a gate down or anything-but nope!  all was excellent!  Yeah!

Good job Salvador! I've just started doing the same with my 6 month old. He was just getting restless in the crate and tossed and turned. I started gating him in the family room and every morning I'm expecting my couches in pieces, but surprisingly he's just laying down waiting for me. Love them!!!

Yay Salvador! thats great to hear! I can relate since I just let Lexi out for the first time last night also. She has also been tossing and turning constantly. We went to bed like normal, she went in her crate and got a bed time snack, but I left the crate door open. She slowly came out laid down beside the bed... and then wriggled her way underneath. Lol Only heard her move once or twice! We slept until our normal time and she followed her regular morning routine.

Yeah Salvador! Finley has free reign at night and starts out on my bed but always goes to his crate on his own in the middle of the night...I always wake up to him in his crate.. Go figure...he has the opportunity to sleep in my bed and chooses his crate!!
