Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Brody is a 5 year old Labradoodle who is fostered in St. Petersburg, FL. He was relinquished to the DRC by his family for the usual reasons of "busy with the kids' activities, no time", etc.

Petfinder has been having technical issues which are preventing the DRC from listing the new dogs in the program. There are several who have not yet been listed, including Brody. No listing means no way to let potential adopters know about Brody, so his foster mom has written a blog about him which you can read Here

From the blog:

"Brody is completely house trained and according to his family, has never destroyed anything in the home when left alone. He slept on his own bed either in the family room or in the parent's room. Because I have a small 10 lb dog I am currently crating Brody when I am not home and he LOVES his crate.

Brody seems to be an F1B because he doesn't shed although right now he does have a short hair cut. He lets me brush him with no issues and will lay on his back for belly rubs. Although he isn't tall Brody is stocky and weighs approximately 70 lbs. He is up to date with shots and neutered :)

Brody knows sit, paw, down and go to bed :) He had a benign tumor on his tail which they amputated when he was around 3 years old so now he has a cute stubby tail. He is a known counter surfer who will play fetch but needs to work on dropping the ball on command. He is known to de-stuff his toys :) His family said he is not fond of cats.

Brody does need some work walking nicely on a leash. He was not taught not to jump to greet people but we have been working on it since he got here last Tuesday and he's already pretty much stopped jumping with us. He definitely needs a strong pack leader. Someone who will set boundaries re: jumping, how to greet people and other dogs, etc. I would love for Brody to get a home with a fenced in yard since this is something he's never had."

If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Brody, the first step is to read the DRC's Adoption Policies: http://doodlerescue.org/notes/DRC_ADOPTION_POLICIES_AND_PROCEDURES

And then submit an adoption application: http://doodlerescue.org/page/adoption-application-2

Brody says "thanks for reading! I can't wait to meet my new mom or dad!"

Can you give me the details when you have them? I will try to get them to fill out an application so they can be ready when they find the right one. I am in Jacksonville. Does she need anyone near here?

YES!!!!!!!!

What can I do and how do I do it?

I contacted Adrianne, let me find out details and get back to you. Or she may beat me to it.

Great, Thanks!

So sad. Couldn't they at least be listed somehow on the main page through DK?

May I add that the fact that the multinational corporation Nestle-Purina recently purchased Petfinder probably has nothing at all to do with the ongoing technical difficulties...and I have a bridge for sale.

How much do want for that bridge, Karen?  (wink)

LOL!

He's so handsome and sounds very sweet.  I hope he finds his forever home soon.

Oh what a dear! I'm so sad that the family didn't think about their lifestyle before he came into their home. Doodle hugs to Brody and the wonderful person who adopts him! :)

Love that he is not very tall but 70 pounds!   Reminds me of Clancy - not very tall but 64 pound bundle of love.  These shorties are real snuggle bugs - they do not know they aren't tiny.  Clancy is sending good vibes to Brody that he finds his forever home quickly.
