Not doodle related - hmmm, well I do wash dog bedding...
My washer is the pits - a Whirlpool Duet, mold growing disaster and I need a new one badly. Prices are absurd and I'm not jumping in blind. Research says one thing, reviews another.
Front loaders have me wary at this point, despite many perks - I recall once upon a time buying a washer was soooo easy.
So I am curious who has what and do you love it or hate it? Thanks

I have an old Top Loader and LOVE it. I didn't realize I Loved it until I started using cloth diapers and it is so much less of a headache than what I hear from some people with their front loaders. But I know there are happy campers on both new and old and front and top loaders.
Thank you all - great feedback. I miss my ancient Maytag - after twenty something years (it was used when I got it) - this one was great at first.
I do want a top loader, although must admit that in the beginning I was happy. We have left the door open, sanitize monthly, all the suggested stuff - but we got one that started the class action lawsuit that spurned a change in drum set. Whirlpool offered to replace the gasket on the door. whoopeee
I've been drooling over the basic Amana (Costco can't keep them in stock) - Speed Queen is on the list - if it will wash in hot or cold, small or large load, spin well enough then I'll be happy. Clean is only clean from a clean machine.
I have an LG top loader which is about 4 years old. Works well, holds a lot, has an extra rinse cycle. I like it a lot. Hope this doesn't jinx me!
I went to Sears - bought an old fashioned washer - top loading. Did not spend too much money and we are very happy.
I put in a small LG frontloader washer/dryer combo in a spare bedroom on my second floor-no more trudging to and from the basement. It works weird, takes about 6 hours, but you don't have to transfer the wash into the dryer. I start it a night and by morning it's done. I still have an older Sears Kenmore in the basement for oversize stuff - nothing fancy, just a workhorse.
I have a 2 year old Whirpool Duet- and I love it. It uses almost no water, is gentle, and barely costs me anything to run- and it dries clothes pretty well in the spin cycle so I save dryer energy. No stinkies.
But, I take care of it: I wipe the seal and the door after every use, frequently use the hot water or steam cycles, use minimal soap (and rarely use fabric softener), and leave the door ajar when it's not in use. It also goes on the cleaning cycle once a month with the washer tablet. Most of these things are things I even did with my top loader (except the cleaner thing).
Plus, it has a see-through door. It's still entertaining to watch the laundry in the cycle. Yes, I loved the laundromat as a kid.
It's also quiet, has little to no vibration (it's filled with cement according to the appliance folks), and I wouldn't hesitate to put it upstairs.
