I guess this is the best place to make this announcement, but Groucho Too has cancer. He has been kind of going downhill the last month and we thought it was from eating poop on a trail out in San Benito County. We got some meds and antibiotics for that and he rather perked up for a while. The last week he has not been wanting to jump in or out of the vehicles and yesterday he did not want to do his usual "pancake hunt". He had problems doing a roll over and would not stand up on the banister or tree to get his pancake. We took him to the vet and she thought at first he had been poisoned, but when the x-rays and blood work came back that did not seem indicated. The x-rays showed fluids in his abdomen and when they were extracted with a needle, there was blood in the fluids. They wanted us to take him to the emergency vet last night, but we brought him home and took him back this morning for surgery. When they opened him up, he had a large cancerous tumor that had ruptured on his spleen and more nodes of cancer on his liver. They gave him about two months. So, we will enjoy the little time we have left with Groucho Too. Thanks for your concern and just give your dogs some extra love for all of us.

Lynda, I am so sorry to hear this. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Lynda - so sorry for you and your family. I love being a part of DK and reading all the happy stories and news. Unfortunately this is part of being in an extended family, and I am heartsick everytime I read about another dog with an illness. I wish there was something brilliant to say that would help. I hope Groucho Too has many good days left to spend with you - enjoy every second. Sending love to you and your family!
Thanks everyone, for all the wonderful support for our family. Groucho Too is home now and doing well. He even tried to jump into the car when we went to pick him up. I think he was happy to be leaving the "Torture Chamber". He walked into the house, looked around, and climbed up onto the couch in one of his favorite sleeping places. I fed him some chicken by hand and he was eager to eat, so I fed him a few ounces of Happy Dog also and he ate it right up. He hasn't had much to eat for the last few days. Things are looking up and we will enjoy whatever time we have with him. Harpo is delighted to have him home. Thanks again for all your support.
So happy he is at least feeling a tad better. The little things in life......:
