upset tummy ...odd pose....butt in the air...front paws stretched out ..back arched

Violet's tummy is gurgleing (spell ?) and really has not eaten anything yet today.She seems ok ,but I have noticed she does this pose... probably makes her tummy feel better ... ? Anyone else have a pup that does this ?

Arching of the back and pacing are signs of bloat so if Violet seems to be in real distress at any time I'd race her to the vet.

The stomach rumbling or gurgling can be a symptom of bloat also. But it can also just be from an empty stomach.

she did poo and pee ok thismorning and now ate some kibble and veggies... chewing on her bone now .. I will for sure keep an eye on her too .... I am a worry wart... better safe then sorry...

Lily Grace very seldom has an upset stomach but she will often even sleep in that position. I hope her Tummy feels better.

Not a good sign and if this were my dog I'd be off DK and rushing to a vet. Bloat is deadly

Now that she is eating and pooping and playing happily, I would advise you to educate yourself in the signs and symptoms of bloat, and the risk factors associated with them so your are aware of what is really ODD behavior and what is really signs of SICK/BAD behavior. Although you came to the right place to ask a question, IF it really was a case of bloat, I doubt you would be on DK asking about what sounds like a normal puppy play pose, and be in the car rushing to the vet with your really distressed and sick acting puppy. The two cases I know of with friends having their dogs die of bloat, knew very quickly what was happening, or that something very seriously wrong was happening and could not get to the vet fast enough.
So to answer your question about the pose, my doodles do all kinds of crazy contortions when they are trying to get something they want, or to make themselves comfortable while sleeping, or get the other doodle to pay attention to them or play with them. Not to mention the in the air aerobatics they both can perform once they decide to do the doodle chest bump.
But who knows, maybe she just had a gas bubble and found a good way to burp herself!!!! :) Try to relax and not be a worry wart and enjoy her. You will have good doodle mommy instincts if it seems like she is in serious trouble.

Its also good to know where the nearest emergency Vet clinic is incase it is a weekend or night time and your Vet isn;t readily available. My vet it just 3 miles down the road, but I know where the two nearest 24/7 Vet ER's are as well. Gives you some peace of mind knowing you have a back up plan.

Glad that Violet is feeling better.  Yes, I agree with everyone's comments regarding bloat.  Traz had bloat and a twisted stomach back in July.  He had to have emergency surgery to untwist the stomach.  Time was of the essence.  The vet said that if we had waited 20 minutes more before getting him to the vet, he would have passed away.  Thank goodness it was caught in time and he is still with us today.  It was a very scary thing to think we might have lost our precious pup.  High chested dogs, including Labradoodles and Goldendoodles, are prone to bloat.  Better to be prepared.  Happy Thanksgiving from our family (including 4-legged member ones) to yours.  Enjoy :-)

hello! i am just wondering and i hate to ask...but bloat is my biggest fear!!! would you mind telling me what you noticed when traz had bloat? what symptoms did you see? thanks and sorry to ask i just want to be aware.. i googled it, but id rather hear your personal experience
