Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We were planning on getting a girl puppy and have names picked out. However, I am a huge believer in temperment and the girl that will be available is pretty dominate and independent (not traits I am interested in especially given the mix we currently have). So I need boy name suggestions. He will either be an apricot or red medium sized labradoodle. I prefer names that end in a "y" or "e" sound (like Brisby or Charlie) but I'm open to any suggestions.

I'm a bit sad, I really wanted a girl but I know I'll be happier if I have a dog with the temperment I desire. Brisby is proof of this. I thought one of his littermates was more handsome but brisby showed the most even temperment. The other one was dominate. Time has shown I made the right pick, brisby is awesome.

Thanks for any help.

Another "B" name? Brisby and Barney?; Brisby and Benny?

I always loved the name Murphy for a boy dog.

Why not wait until you find what you really want in a puppy? Never settle!!

In the famous book, The Secret of NIHM, the main character, Mrs. Brisby, has four children.  The two boys are Martin and Timothy.  Since you're looking for a male name with a final long vowel sound, why not name the puppy Timothy, Timmy, or Marty?

Also, I was hoping for a male puppy as our second doodle, but when the litter of puppies were born, there were all girls.  I couldn't be happier that I did not wait for a future litter, as my little Charlotte is absolutely perfect.

Just my thoughts but too many dogs with the sound ending in E /  Y may cause confusion.

Name the dog after a Rock Star or a redhead movie star.

He he he! Sending you that sweet puppy smell!
I agree Joanne....I like names that end in E/Y, but already had Ellie. Didn't want it to be confusing for our new Boy, so went with Oliver and it worked out Great!!!

Here's a famous redhead with a great name for a doodle.

He's HOT!  Plain and simple

Harry! Lol! Hmmm. You guys are cracking me up! Thanks!

... and I so much agree. No way would I ever want a dominate female dog. I'll take three males any day.  No way
