I am interested in hearing if anyone has a solution for the beard stains too. Even though Stella's face is clean, her muzzle has become so stained it looks dirty.
As a new Doodle owner the dirty doodle mouth has been driving me bananas also. My gal gets eye boogers, sorry but that is what we've always called them...LOL. So I can just pick those off, she doesn't get tear stains. But her beard looks dirty all the time. I've been wiping after she eats with a wet paper towel and the drying it, that has been a bit better. She actually likes getting her mouth wiped clean now. But I'm curious and looking forward to what others do about the dirty mouth also.
Me too! Paddy is almost 6 now, but this has been a constant problem, especially since he's raw fed. A mild vinegar solution will clean egregious crud off his beard, but the staining doesn't even come off when he's shampooed.
The best thing I ever saw was a mud pack. My friend's white doodle had staining and then went digging in the yard. After that fun, the dog played bite the sprinkle so the water pressure was fierce. Her face came out whiter than white. I told my friend I was going to come over and dig up her yard. :)
A mud pack, who would figure that...LOL. I do admit that when I let my gal bites the hose spray nozzle, she does come out with a much whiter muzzle. ☺
Ha! The mud here would hardly do -- it's red clay!

I found this, like the baking soda idea.
I tried the diaper wipes, the filtered water helped a bit but not totally after 5 months. I have used whitening shampoo that helped some but not a huge difference. I also tried changing to a totally grain free food.
I guess the thing to remember is that is has to grow out from what I have read. I did not try the Angels Eyes as its an antibiotic based product and I am not convinced its a red yeast on her I really think its a saliva stain.
My male now has it on his belly where he licks so I have been shaving him around his privates to keep those hairs away that keep getting tangled from his licking.
I am no longer doing the filtered water and I have noticed it came back darker so I trimmed it up a bit and thinned around the nose area a bit to make it lighter.
We have goober eyes and not tear stains.
I do everything to keep Boris's face clean. Baby wipes after eating and drinking, washing the face at least once a week with whitening shampoo. Trimming as much off as possible. The person who invents a really good solution to this will make a fortune is all I can add.
I love using this Blueberry Facial on Buddy and I notice that it lightens up under his eyes and around his muzzle really well. I soap his head first and let it sit while I do the rest of his body. I only use it on his head, I use other shampoo for the rest because it is a little pricey. I shampoo twice, they usually always need two and I lather him both times the same, starting with the head so the soap can work on whitening.
