Henry's Surgery Update

We are home! He did well during surgery today. The doctor removed the mass from his leg. He is home and resting comfortably. So far he is leaving his stitches alone. We are supposed to put a sock on it to keep it dry when he goes out to pee. I tried this but it fell off. Any clever ideas appreciated. We will know the pathology on Tuesday or Wednesday so keep praying! Thank you for your support!

I've been thinking of you and Henry all day. I'm so glad things went well so far and hope the pathology report is great news. Have you tried just wrapping the top of the sock with masking tape to hold it on for the trip outside?

Put a sock on and slip a piece of panty hose over it to make it snug. Then jus remove

Good that he is home and the surgery is over. Let's hope now for good results. You could put on a long sleeved vest instead of the socks.

There is a Vet wrap, or regular coban that you can get just about anywhere. It sticks to itself and not to his hair. Mine always manage to get it off somehow, but maybe Henry will be better behaved.

When Beau was a puppy, he stepped in a hole and got a spiral fracture in his back leg.  We had to keep the cast dry when he went to potty and found the plastic bag the paper came in was perfect.  Slip it on and then put a rubber band around the top to keep it on.  It was not tight (the rubber band was around the top of the cast, not his leg) and immediately came off when he came in.  We tried a grocery bag but the newspaper bag worked best.
