Luther severely dislikes being separated from us. He's fine in his kennel at night (it's in or room). Not so much any other time. He has escaped it several times while we have been gone. The first time he was in a smaller kennel and figured out how to unlatch it. So we tied it shut the next time. He pushed the bottom tray out, flipped the kennel, and squeezed out a bottom square. We moved him to a larger kennel and used a carabeener in the middle of the door (halfway between the two latches). He unlatched the bottom latch and managed to squeeze out. The next time we leave we're putting a carabeener on each latch. He is way too smart lol. Hopefully he doesn't find another way to break free. Our mini poodle only requires 1 carabeener on the door to keep her in. Thankfully the only things he's destroyed are 3 mini blinds, a diaper (pee thank heavens!), and a wicker basket. There are sooo many things he could have destroyed. He didn't even have a potty accident, amd we were gone about 4 hours.

Impressive. You have quite the escape artist.

Luther, is one smart pup! Be proud of what a great dog he's going to be, and just outsmart him! It sounds like you have the right attitude! Oh....and what a silly picture! He looks like so much fun!
How old is Luther?
5 months on the 12th
Quite the Houdini! Sometimes, I think these guys are too smart for their own good!
We have a Vari-kennel for Enzo. It has a 2 piece latch on the top and bottom . ONCE, just once, I neglected to hook the bottom catch and she was able to push her way out. Ever since then, as soon as I tell her to go into her crate, she immediately checks to see if I have latched top and bottom!
These guys keep us on our toes!
But Luther just might be the "King" of Escape Artists!
I'll have to check out the vari kennel. That's funny she checks to make sure they're latched lol!

Wow. I've heard of escape artists before, but never one as prolific as Luther. We never secure both latches on our crates and we've never had any escape attempts. Once, when Oscar was little I'd put him in his crate and latched the door after a late night potty break and the next morning my DH opened the bedroom door to find Oscar sleeping right outside it. Turned out I'd taken Oscar out of one crate door and put him in through another crate door. He'd just walked out of the open door. Never got into trouble that night, nor had any accidents, either.

I'm so impressed! I know you are not at all impressed but this is amazing!!!
Oh, we're proud of the smartness, lol. We're hoping to direct it better ;) I'm sure Luther is very impressed with himself lmao. We left him today with carabeeners on both latches and he stayed in. Fingers crossed it continues working!

What an escape artist!  I am truly impressed.

He escaped again.  This time he managed to push the door away from the top and squeeze through the gap. Next trip is to the hardware store for wire to wire all the joins shut.  At least this time there was no damage to anything lol.

Rut Roh! This guy needs his own show in Vegas! :p
