I took my 6 month old puppy to get spayed 2 days ago. When we brought her home she was so depressed and ended up being sick all night. The next day she woke up and acted like nothing happened. She is as hyper as ever. She keeps trying to jump on everything and run around. It doesn't seem like she is in any pain at all. I am a little worried because I have read a few things on here about some complications that can happen if a dog is too active after surgery. I just can't seem to calm her down! Do dogs usually recover that quickly? I thought she would be out of commission for at least a week!

This sounds normal and good.. Now you may have to tether her to prevent her from jumping arround to much.

yup--normal!! good luck!!

Enzo did the same.  No matter what I did, including tethering her to me....she was one WhackaDoodle!  Her "enthusiasm" caused her to rip out her top layer of stitches.   Vet ended up prescribing a sedative for her..

Same her with my Bella. By day two, you'd never know she had the surgery by watching her run around. Do your best in keeping her from jumping and running hard, but it really is a challenge.

Quincy bounced back in no time, too- a little too much bounce, but he was fine.  Good luck!

The cone was making her sad so we put her in a onesie and are just keeping a close eye on her. So far she hasn't tried to lick or chew through at all

The Vet told me to just make sure the incision gets air and " can breathe", regarding the onsie.
