Cally has got to be the fastest eater I have ever seen in my life! She can "inhale" a whole cup of food in under a minute. I have tried other bowls that slow her down but to no avail. I have also tried putting her food all over the floor and she just lays on it and licks it up. I saw on Chewy.com fun game bowls and figured I would give it a try. I knew I definitely needed something so what could it hurt. I tried it tonight for the first time for her dinner tonight and she went from eating a cup of food in under a minute with no chomping just inhaling to TEN MINUTES! She actually chewed her food and even took a breath and went back to the bowl. It has a very low profile so there was no way she could turn it over. The only grievance I have is the actual flower part has pretty raised sides so it was a little more difficult but I think it will be easier as she grows. I also wish it was stainless but oh well! I am already debating on buying another one so I can rotate them.

This is the one I bought.

It is a Kyien Dog Flower Slo Bowl Interactive Dog Feeder. I highly recommend it to those with speedy eaters.

This is their selection:

Camilla, if you end up trying it you have to let us know the times!  I think Jennifer wins the time with 30 minutes. I may have to go with her choice instead of the hill one just to see how challenging it will be. I have a feeling I will just keep adding another bowl to my auto ships until I have all of them!

These look great!  I was using a slow feed bowl from "JW Pet" (it took forever to find one locally) Luna was having a really hard time as she got bigger though and I felt bad for her- she thankfully no longer inhales her food so I can use a regular bowl.

April, I am glad she no longer inhales her food. I just do not understand how they eat so darn fast! I think my friend had the JW one and Cally just flipped it over.

We went the toy route and it helped a lot - in addition to being fun for Zoe.  This one is my favorite StarMark Bob-a-lot: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001JQLNB4/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_....  She really likes playing with it and it takes her a good 15 minutes to get all of the kibble out, although you need to have a space you're ok with the kibble being on the floor (we just have her do it in the kitchen with the tile floor).  I wipe the outside down after every use, but the inside doesn't need washing but once a week.

This looks like a good idea also! I may have to get it just to change it up.

When I saw all the recommendations for this feeder (as an aside, how I love this Web site for all the wonderful tips), I couldn't resist ordering one for our 5-month old ALD, Truffle.  The little rascal scarfs his Orijen puppy food like there's no tomorrow, finishing it in under a minute.  We received our slo-bowl (the green labyrinth version, ordered from Amazon for less than $20) today and he just finished his first dinner with it in a most leisurely, five-course-meal-style (for a dog, anyway) 30 minutes!  He kicked the bowl around the kitchen in an attempt to get every last bit into his mouth.  I imagine he'll quickly get the hang of it and we'll see his meal time steadily decrease over the next few days.

Here's a picture of the monster with his new bowl.

More good news!

Love to hear this! I am very impressed with it and although Cally has improved her time a little I do not see her getting any faster! I already put another one on my next auto ship from Chewy. I am going with the green hill one next! I feel like I should not be this excited about a dog bowl but I really am! LOL

Love it!

I saw them at Petco the other day and I was thinking about getting one for Pinot. Charlie eats 1 or 2 kibbles at the time, chews well and seems like she is savoring ( LOL) her food. But Pinot just gobble them down... He brought his food back up a couple of times, and I became concern that he could be susceptible to getting the bloat. ( My be loved Butter had Bloat and it is so scary!! Plus expensive since they have to be operated on right away!! )

I was wondering if it is easy to clean or not, though..?

Thank you for posting this, Brittney... I think I am going to get one for him.

I think it is pretty easy to clean and I have the flower one which looks like the more difficult one to clean. After Cally is done eating I throw it in the sink with some soap and soak it in really hot water and let it sud up and then sit. Then I go about my business and clean the other dog bowls and then clean it with a soft sponge because I do not want to scratch it. Then I just let it dry on a paper towel on her food storage container and it is ready for the next meal! It is also dishwasher safe but it is pretty big so it would take up most of the top rake, at least in my dishwasher. But I have thrown it in beforejust to make sure it is really clean.

I feel your pain about the expensive Bloat surgery! Been there and do not want to go there again!

Have been talking to Kyjen this week and we are very likely going to be doing a Slo-Bowl giveaway sometime after the PetHub collar giveaway :-)  Yipee!
