Bailey's spay is today

Bailey gets spayed this morning and im a little nervous. Im sure she will be fine but I feel so bad because she doesnt know why she cant eat or drink this morning. We are getting ready to go but she is just sitting looking at her food dish then at me. I told her I was going to stop at the store and have something special for her when she gets home.

I hope Bailey's surgery goes well and the time flies by until she's home again.

I know the feeling Linda...it is heartbreaking because they just don't understand why you can't feed them...sending happy, positive thoughts that Bailey will recover & heal quickly.  She will be so excited to see you when you pick her up and it will be over before you know it.  Just try and keep yourself busy today.  Thinking of you:)

Thank you. I have a question, Karen. The vet tech told me that now would be a good time to change to an adult food because they tend to gain weight after being spayed. Bailey eats Fromm puppy food, should I switch over to the adult food now?

Wait til she's fully recovered. Her metabolism isn't going to change all that fast, and she's not going to start gaining weight so fast, either. You can change in the next month without a problem.

Thanks, I will continue on her puppy food I was just concerned because with the weather we are having in the western suburbs of Chicago we havent really been able to go on our walks because it is just way too cold and Bailey hates being outside so her only exercise has been indoors.

I bet she will come through the surgery with flying colors and be ready to play in just a few days. Do you get to pick her up today? Just try and stay busy, that's my plan for next Thursday!

I do get to pick her up today.  I brought her in at 8:00 a.m. and they told me that she will probably be ready to go home at about 3:00 this afternoon.
