Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Any dog will do but especially doodles. They can be doing anything or nothing at all. But they should be current and favorites of yours. They should be special in some way, whether they just please you or they are technically perfect or imperfect but not just one of the thousands we all take often. New photos please.

Darwin looks so forlorn but lovable.  You may need to get him a companion or bake him a treat : )  This is a good shot. I agree with more DOF. I do like eyes, nose and ears sharp.

He looks so huggable.  Beautiful photo!

Sweet, sweet Darwin!  I love this photo Camilla.

Thanks you guys! F - I agree he looks depressed (although he usually does LOL) and he needs a treat. :-)

Oh beautiful Darwin!  Just look at those eyes!!!

Such a handsome boy!

He is super cute and I love shallow DOF.  Although there is something about this image that I can't quite figure out that seems off to me.  DOF aside, it doesn't seem quite as crisp as it could.  Maybe more brightness or clarity would help - I'm really not quite sure.

It's sharp, but perhaps the lack of crispness is due to the "muddy" background? I took it inside the deep dark depths of my apartment so it's not the most attractive backdrop. :-) I will play with it when I get home and see if I can get it to pop more. I think when I look at it the thing that is off is the DOF. It's just a bit too shallow on his nose and ears. Or maybe it's just too brown.

I agree with DOF. And we all need perfectly lit photo booths for the doodles : )

Wouldn't that be nice? :-)

Could be the background.  I'm not quite sure how to explain it.  It's not lack of sharpness or focus I don't think.  Could be because of shallow DOF combined with him looking at the camera so squarely so that you can see the depth of his muzzle.  I'm not really sure.

Here is Darwin's Valentines Day portrait! When Laurie told me her plans for F & V, it inspired me to try my own shoot. I wanted to go for a studio look, using a bounced flash, a seamless backdrop and of course, a bow tie for Darwin. I'm new to flash lighting and definitely need to improve but I was pleased with the final result! I used my Speedlight on ETTL, bounced it off of the ceiling, and the backdrop is a plastic tablecloth (very classy)

Thanks Laurie for all of the helpful feedback!

It's frustrating after such detailed tweaking of the final color to see it all stripped out (thanks DK... not!) So you can click on it if you would like to see what the color is supposed to look like. :-)
