Hi, glad to have joined doodlekisses! It seems such a reassuring group and I am sure we will need support in our time, and happy to help as able, too! My concerns are allergies ( hoping my hub won't react to ours!) and training, especially with/for our son who has special needs. Here is our only puppy pic so far...attached

Yes, it has been very funny actually because the breeder's email of the ultrasound pics had a subject line saying,
"pregnancy confirmed!" Well, this scared the bejeezers out of my sister for a sec after I forwarded it to her, lol!

HaHa! I have never seen anyone post an ultrasound pic before! You might want to search our forum about the topic allergies--there are all sort of opinions--from the happy new owner who is not allergic to her pup to the people who are actively involved in re-homing rescue doodles whose families were allergic to the dog--they are NOT hypoallergenic (but no dog is) and you must choose carefully--even if you do, the reaction could come later when the pup's adult coat comes in--at around 12-14 months old.

So, I am crossing my fingers and toes for you that this works--my only advice is to make sure you get a curly pup --even though they are ALDs--they are NOT all created equal--we have occasionally had people post pics of their ALDs and they were wondering why they looked more like labs--buyer beware!

Even with a curly ALD, there is a risk, but it seems to be better. I raise LD pups and some of them are ALDs--we have had good luck, but are careful to place the curlier pup with the allergy prone customers.

Wow, I was expecting something with more hair! LOL  Congratulations, I hope you find the puppy that is the perfect match for you. Tara is a mini ALD and I have dog allergies and do fine with her but as others have explained it doesn't always end up that way. Good luck!

Welcome Cindy! We had an older dog when my grandson, who is on the spectrum of Aspergers, has ADHD & Anxiety came to live with us. We have since added a Corgi for him and recently a Standard Teddy Bear Goldendoodle. While there have been a few minor challenges as with any new pet addition, the rewards have been great and pets really add so much to our lives. Our grandson has really made great progress by helping feed, water, brush and care for them. He is now working on learning to train his dog! Warmest regards and well wishes.
