Bamboo Flooring

This has nothing to do with doodles but I was hoping that some of you might have had experience with bamboo flooring. We are going to renovate our bedroom in the next few months and I have fallen in love with a Bamboo Flooring with a vertical carbonized finish. We have a very small bedroom and I was hoping to do the floor in bamboo and put a grass wallpaper on one wall. Myla does sleep in the bedroom with us (on her dog bed on the floor). When looking online there are a lot of poor reviews on bamboo flooring but it seems most of those reviews are from people who have put it on concrete floors. I was hoping that some of you might have bamboo flooring and can let me know how you feel about it. I am mostly concerned about the peeling and the cupping. The flooring has gone on sale starting today at 20% off so we have to make our decision soon. Thanks!

Just be sure to follow all the installation instructions very closely! Maybe it is not supposed to be put over an old flooring product.

Yes, we will definitely follow instructions - we are tearing out the carpet and underlay on the bedroom floor and will be starting fresh!

We had bamboo in a house we built in 2005. Sold it in 2009 and it was just gorgeous. It was on cement, and new cement at that but no buckling even as the house settled. It was in Florida and the ground gets very wet and we did think of that as we decided to install it but the vendor assured us that bamboo is more flexible that other woods. Which makes sense considering how and where it is grown. I loved that look as well.
If I remember correctly, it had to "cure" or stay in the garage for a few weeks to adapt to the environment.

That's so good to hear Sue! Thank you so much for that! It does have to cure before installing! It is now sitting in our garage but we won't be installing it for a couple months - we have to tear down some walls first :)
