It's not a full groom as the LAST time he went to the groomer they cut his body and legs way too short. So I haven't had to do his body or legs yet, but I did flag his tail and I cleaned up his head. They skipped his ears and tail last time (and did a poor job the prior time.) They were both really long, like 4". Ever since that last time at the groomer I have been reading this forum, researching and deciding on my tools. My supplies arrived yesterday so I did the work over 2 days. He had his bath yesterday and I used the high velocity dryer on him but I let his head air dry because he's not into the blower for that yet. He is 1 year old and otherwise a super co-operative dood so I'm not going to push it. I trimmed up his tail last night and fixed up his head this morning. His ears were hanging so long and low that my husband had been singing that song to him "Do your ears hang low.."

I took a LOT off his ears and the sides of his muzzle. The pile of hair filled my hand open as wide as I could hold it. The groomers had not been clipping the hair under his ears short at all so I took a lot out of there too. I like his ears getting plenty of air flow.

My husband says he looks like a puppy again!

He is adorable and he does look like a puppy. Good job. You will find grooming him easier if you have him standing on something, in a pinch you can always use your coffee table. I use a fold up table similar to this. It has adjustable heights and was less than $40.

Thanks very much!

I do have a grooming table. I got a folding one on amazon for $120 shipped (Canada.) I set it up in my living room today so he could look out the front window and watch squirrels and people walking by.

What a great idea! I could get one of these and just lay a yoga mat on it or something for a little security for Ragley. Thanks, Donna!

Stephanie, I just use an old rubber backed floor mat, works like a charm.

Oh that's a great idea! I may do that as I am getting better and then maybe in the future invest in a legit grooming table. I know you can just buy the grooming arms separately!

He looks great!  Good job!

Nice Job!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how his face and ears turned out!!! I skipped trimming Ragley's ears because I wasn't sure how to do it, but you did a wonderful job!

Looks great!   It is so much easier when you have some sort of a table to put them up on.  Much easier on the back and I think they behave better when up on a table.  Before we got our grooming table I just put them on the island in the kitchen.

He looks just adorable!

Adorable! Great job! Looks so much like my Lucy in so many ways... :)

Looks great!    I love doing my own grooming. It takes me a couple days too. Picco is patient so when he's had enough, I let him go, then get back at it later. I can see that I'm improving and getting more confident, trying new techniques. As long as he's patient & I'm having fun - that's all that counts!
