Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hey Gang, I have an acquaintance who is moving out of State due to family issues. She absolutely can not take her Doodle boy with her. She will be emailing me pics and info tonight. Where is the best place to post to get him seen?

You can only post dogs here on DK who are with legitimate shelters or rescue groups, not individuals rehoming their dogs. And it would be the best and safest thing for your friends' dog to be rehomed through rescue. Very few individual dog owners have the knowledge or tools to properly screen potential adopters, and rehoming yourself also provides no safety net for the dog if the next family can't keep him.
Of course, the first thing she should do is contact her breeder if she hasn't already done so. Most reputable breeders have a clause in their purchase agreements that they must be contacted beore you can transfer ownership of one of their dogs, and many will take the dog back or assist with rehoming.
The absolute worst thing to do is post on Craig's List or similar places. That's the best way for the dog to end up in a labratory or as a bait dog for pitbulls.
Where is she moving to?
Missouri.
Doodle Rescue Collective, Inc--will foster the doodle and then find a great home!
Please contact the DRC or IDOG so that possible new homes can be properly screened and chosen and the best new home can be found.
I have a link to the Doodle Rescue Collective, a non-profit rescue organization, re-home application: http://doodlerescue.org/page/rehome-assistance-form
Please let us know when you post! I'd love to see him and I live in MA so I could spread the word locally as well.
Thanks everyone for all the info. I was just hoping someone on DK might be interested so he wouldn't have to go into any system. Since I live down the street I am considering being his foster if we get him into a rescue group. I will post info and pics as soon as possible and will get in touch with the groups you have mentioned. Thanks again!
You fostering him would be a great idea. You might also check with local rescue groups in your area. If the dog has no major issues (health or behavior) and has someone willing to foster him, a local group should be happy to help you place him.
Petfinder has lists of rescue groups by area if you don't know of any near you.
