I am headed to Georgia to see my kids and grandkids for 10 days and Meg will go with me as always, she loves to travel.  I stopped at the vet and got allergy meds for her, last year was a nightmare with her paws and the vet down there got very expensive.  Her and I are all set to leave in the morning.  Polly still gets car sick so she is saying home with hubby.  The girls have not been separated since Polly came home last October and I am real curious how they will handle it.  Meg will have my grandog Stevie to play with but Polly will be by herself.  The girls are so close that I worry a bit about it but assume when we get home they will get excited for a few hours and then do well.  Anyone else ever have your pups separated?

The pictures are of Meg and Polly together and then one of Polly with her first haircut...it leaves her with a bit of a scruffy look that I love.

Will Dh be home during the day with Polly? She probably will look around for Meg, for awhile, but settle down into lapping up all the attention without sharing the spotlight. It's hard to say really, but I feel they adapt well as long as they are with one of their people. When I take one, even for a short while and leave one home with DH, he says the other just goes nuts running and barking from window to door for about 10 minutes, then settles down. I think it's more because he/she just wanted to go for a ride tho. But then again, if part of their pack is missing in action, I'd think they'd feel a little unsettled for a little bit, but adjust fine, especially when they are home in their familiar surroundings. Yes, they will have a very happy reunion!!! Have a nice safe trip and enjoy those grand-babies!!!

Yes, we are retired to Polly will have him all to herself and probably enjoy it.  I will probably have to tighten up a bit of her training when I get home, he is not very good about follow through, for instance treats without being in a sit first, sit before the door is opened, sending them to the potty area of the yard first when they go out and so on.  Good thing she knows those things already and will only have to be reminded when I get back.

We have taken Ned for several days and left the others at home.  Ned remembered all of his training (that he doesn't show at home) and was a perfect angel.

Have a great trip. Let us know how they do.

Have a safe and fun trip!  We have an "only Doodle" so no adivce here!   Let us know how they do!

Have a safe and enjoyable trip! I'm sure the girls will be fine. Our 3 always look for each other when they're separated but they adjust during the temporary change. The best part is when they get back together ours are SO excited to see each other! Makes me smile just watching them greet each other!

I'm looking forward to your report.  We always think in terms of all or nothing with the doodles but maybe separate trips would work.  Enjoy your visit!
