Jack was gifted a six month subscription to the Bark Box…  He never gets anything out of it, other then toys, until I check the treats…..

I have searched the food group and on here, to the best of my ability and I also checked online. Does anyone know anything about the Nootie Yumzies that came in this month's box?  It says Made in the USA and it says on the bag, American sourced chicken.   To me I think it is okay then but wanted to se what other people do with the Bark Box treats?

Thanks for any help,

J

This will be month four for us with Bark Box.  I, too, was leary of the treats... and wrote and asked about them.  They told me they do not use any treats made or sourced from China.  I've seen USA sourced and prepared treats and Canadian as well.   I've done some basic research, but not a ton.  I've tried the treat - and wait about 48 hours to see if there are any negative reactions.  I also have only given the new treats when I will be home for several hours afterwards - just to be safe.  My Shelby has a pretty sensitive system... and she's not had any negative reaction.   As for the toys - we've had a few that were made in China.

I feel the same as you Christine!  I check the treats very closely, but some I cannot find on the internet.  I too only give Libby one when I am going to be around for awhile.  I have had a few toys from China and contacted them through the internet and said I would prefer no toys from China.  So far, they have only been USA products.  Libby really enjoys the box coming and totally knows it is for her.  The only thing I DO NOT give her are the Bully Sticks.

I don't get the point of Bark Boxes.  Can you explain it to me?

I don't think they make sense really. I'd rather buy things I need or want for the doodles that I know are safe and well tolerated.

Nancy, I don't think there is any point to them except getting something in the mail for your Dogs.  I have had the boxes coming for a year and like I said above Libby loves getting them.  I will say, I have three more months on my service and I did call a couple of weeks ago and said to cancel when it is up.  I guess it is just a gimmick to sell something to dog lovers.  LOL

Thanks.  I thought perhaps I was missing out!  I  LOVE  getting packages, so I see the draw.  I don't actually do that much for my dogs on a regular basis. Our treats last for months and toys for minutes so I buy sparingly.

For me personally, I think it is a way to find new things that Cally, Rosey and I like. (right now while I am living with my parents, Rosey gets to share in on the box and when I move out they will get their own subscription for her) Cally and Rosey are not  picky dogs in the slightest so it works well for us, that we find new treats we like and I do not have to buy toys. She gets one or two new ones a month  and she gets very excited about it. There are other subscription boxes out their for people and kids and the point of them is for people to sample things they like and to continue to buy them. I have replaced a toy recently from one of her first bark boxes because it got so worn out from being played with all the time. I do not think it would work with dogs with allergy concerns, picky eaters, toy destroyers and such. Same thing goes for the boxes for humans. Sometimes they just do not work! I love it because I know the toys and treats are safe, of course I still look at things. I know Stephanie does the Pet Box and those boxes you get to pick what you want but I personally like the surprise and Cally or Rosey have not had an issue with any thing that has been in the boxes. Hope this helps! But like I said definitely not for every dog!

I enjoy the suprise too and there have been a few toys that I thought no way my Shelby would play with that... And she loved it. The "moo tug" toy is a perfect example of this. These are products that I would otherwise never have tried. Alligator jerky was a big hit at our house :). I just signed up for a six month subscription and will likely stop for a while at the end of 6 months... Given I've got a stock pile of treats. My plan is if there is anything she doesn't t like we can donate to the shelter or share with her doggie friends.
Exactly! Lol on the stock pile of treats, we have the same thing here! I feel I have my own store of treats here!

Donating what you don't find right for you is a great idea.

I agree that the main appeal for me is discovering new brands and items I never would have- especially the toys and treats. Different companies work for different people. You can choose to be surprised with PetBox as well, but some prefer Barkbox. PetBox actually has a promotion right now where you can get $20 off your subscription including the one month (50%off the first box) with code "RAGLEYDOODLE" so now is a great time to give it a try if you were considering, but BarkBox also has lots of promotions and there are always 10% off subscription codes for both companies. :) I prefer choosing because I like knowing I get my money's worth as far as items and Ragley's tastes.

Thanks.
