I love backlighting so I was happy  Joanne suggested this. Sometimes, however, there are lovely things that are not backlit and naturally they are welcome. In fact, landscapes, dogs, flowers all good. In fact as usual, if you have a great shot put it here. This discussion may go through the first week of July depending on whether I can post easily from parts unknown. Have fun, that's what it's all about.

LOL

I love how the light turns ordinary veggie blooms into delicate beauties. Great!
Thank you F. I was amazed at what back lighting did to this flower.

Ditto to this comment!! Couldn't have said it better.

Look at those translucent petals!! Nice!

Lovely!

Thanks DJ and Camilla.

The light highlights their fragile nature beautifully!  I love this!

Beautiful!  The petals look so fragile.

So delicate and lovely.

I was inspired by Camilla's lines--not the same here but I think the lines angling to a triangle help with the composition. Thanks, Camilla--(and I actually like this one).

I've been reading a lot about backlighting.  Some photographers hate it and for others it can help to create the mood or feeling that they want to convey in the image.  I've looked at some gorgeous photos of people or dogs in fields of flowers (and elsewhere) with beautiful golden backlighting and the lighting clearly helps to establish the mood or atmosphere.  I've also seen some interesting work in which backlighting is used to create wonderful silhouettes.

I think it is worth working on for me.
