I made my pick last night! MEET GUMBO :)

I made my pick last night!! For those of you following my story, he was pup #3, the lightest of the 3 red boys. He also is the biggest of the litter, and weighs 6 lbs at just over 5 weeks old!! His name will be Gumbo (I live in Southern Louisiana and wanted a strong yet cute Southern name). I am super excited to get him in a few more weeks!! Yay!! Now for some fun! I'd like to hear your predictions of what Gumbo may look like as an adult.(coat, size, color etc).. His mom is Standard red Poodle 43 lbs and Dad is F1 GD Phil at 70 lbs. What do y'all think he may look like? Does he look like your dog? I'd like some guesses!!

Pup #3 was my favorite as well :) I'm partial to lighter coats. My guess is that Gumbo (love the name!) will turn out lighter like his daddy, and will be curlier as well. Big paws on a puppy can be an indicator of a large adult, but I've heard that that doesn't always hold true. Oscar had huge paws but his breeder thought he'd get no bigger than 40 lbs. You've probably heard his story many times, as I've told it a lot. We originally were looking for a medium size doodle and chose Oscar because he was the smallest male of his litter and as small as the smaller females. He just kept growing, and growing and today he's almost 70 lbs. His mother was 40 lbs. and his father was 55 lbs. For all I know, Oscar turned out to be the largest adult of his litter. He definitely grew into his paws! We love him any size, and quickly learned it didn't matter how big he got. Just a whole lot more to love! Congratulations!
