I didn't know that I could laugh for hours. I had decide sometime ago that I was going to learn how to groom my doodles. I like my groomer, but she just doesn't always return the same dog to me. So I bought myself some clippers, I watched Ann’s (Sully mom) video on YOU TUBE and away I when to the basement. I had clippers in hand and a black dog (Sadie). So I began my adventure. Now I must say I have told myself that I would not make her short (like my groomer does to Charlie). The first couple of swipes and I'm thinking "wow "this isn't so bad. I was cutting and cutting. I stopped ran up stairs looked at the video and ran back down stair. All i could think about is that thank goodness her would start to grow back in a couple of weeks. I think I'll wait a while before I try Charlie

I think you did pretty good! She's gorgeous Ann!
You did a great job. Worst thing if you buzz too close, it will grow back. And of all the dogs I know, they don't hold grudges about bad hair days! lol Eva
That doesn't look bad at all. It actually looks pretty good. Better than my girl when we bring her back from the groomers. I just might have to watch that video and give it a try.
Very nice job she is a very pretty doodle=)
It's just like anything, keep practicing. Don't beat yourself up. We can always see our own flaws when we do it ourselves with anything. But she looks good.... don't give up.
Sadie looks chic & pretty happy with her new 'do :) I'm curious, how much time total did it take you to cut her?
I think you did a fantastic job! Do you have a "before" picture? What size blades did you use?
Thanks! It took me a couple of hours and I use a 3/4 blade.
I also think you did a good job. I was expecting a buzz to the skin cut, in other words a Naked Doodle.
I think she looks great! Maybe one of these day's I'll get the courage to try. Tucker was groomed in September and he already needs another trim.
She looks great! i use a scissor to cut my doodle and I also scissor-cut my Wheaten when i had him. Takes a lot of time, but less chance of a bare spot or two! i think you did a wonderful job on Sadie, though!
WOW! I am impressed at what a good job you did!
