Sadie and Coal's First "Real" Haircut

After much reluctance, we finally overcame our attachment to puppy hair and used the clippers on Coal and Sadie. We love the long hair look, and we don't mind regular brushing, but we did want to make drying after swimming a little more efficient, and we are hoping to avoid the matting that goes along with the transition from puppy coat to adult coat. We followed advice from Stephanie and Ragley, as well as, Nancy and Gracie Doodle. We didn't really do much to their faces, as I haven't yet purchased a good pair of sheers. The rounded end pair leaves them looking choppy.

We did Coal first, so I was afraid to take much off with three kids standing there watching me and begging me not to "mess him up." So Coal's haircut was minimal, and now I think I want to put him back up on the table and do it again. Here is his after:

Obviously, we were a little more confident with Sadie, as we had learned a lot from grooming Coal. There are lots of mistakes with both of them, but overall we are happy with our first attempt. We will definitely try it again.
